CISGENDER AND TRANSGENDER WOMEN

NOMO is committed to the health and well-being of all women regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, socioeconomic status, religion, age or disability.

Macon ranks sixth in number of HIV disease cases (HIV and AIDS together). We have more than 100 new infections annually with a lot of people who fall out of care. NOMO wants to help change that and make sure that you get into care and remain in care.

FOR BLACK WOMEN, in 2019 it was discovered that 91% of new HIV infections were attributed to heterosexual contact while the HIV infection rate among Black women was the highest compared to women of all other races and ethnicities.

Additionally, a recent CDC study done in 2020 found that BLACK TRANSGENDER WOMEN accounted for 62% of HIV infections among transgender women with HIV living in seven major U.S. cities.
